Fans of the Nexus 7 2017 are already wondering if there will still be a chance that its absence will not happen again in the following months. In result, a lot has suggested that Google should give up working on the older versions of the tablet and concentrate on the upcoming 2017 model or the so called "Project Taimen."

In the previous week, Google has already started releasing the Android 7.1.2 Nougat to the Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5 X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, and the Pixel C tablet. Along with the release of the latest OS includes recent apps screen and bug fixes. Unluckily, this update is no longer available to download for Nexus 6, Nexus 7, and Nexus 9, according to Ars Technica.
It was repeated by people in the internet that Google should stop paying attention to its previous versions of Nexus 7 and start focusing their attention on the development of the upcoming 2017 version. There is no official statement that was released by the company regarding this.
In other news, reports about the Google Pixel 2 or Walleye and Pixel 2 XL have been spreading lately. These include the details about a third device dubbed as "Taimen." Fans are expecting it to be the Nexus 7 that they are waiting for fairly some time now.
This upcoming device is expected to boast high-performance specs and features that would bring an overall impressive performance. The Nexus 7 is reported to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, currently the most powerful chipset available in the market. Coupled with the powerful chipset is a possible 6GB or 8GB RAM, according to a report by Geek Reply.
Reports are suggesting that the Nexus 7 2017 will be running on Andromeda OS. However, the company has already revealed that the OS will be used is the alleged Android 8.0 or dubbed as Oreo. This smartphone including the new Pixel device is expected to be released this year.
