The "Pokemon Go" Easter event is reportedly set to begin this week. Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, is known to introduce surprises during major holidays including Christmas, Halloween and even Valentine's Day.
According to the Daily Star, the gift that Niantic would reveal in the upcoming event would not be an update. Instead, it would focus on the technical and server side of the game. This improvement would come in the wake of a study showing a great decline in the players of "Pokemon Go."

The players of the game reportedly decreased by up to five million at the end of 2016. However, the game was revived after a series of events and Gen 2 launch. Thus, many believe that the developers of the game are brewing something for the Easter.
There are speculations that Niantic would give away items that had been given away during the Special Event abilities. These includes Double Stardust, Double XP, and new Pokemon. There are only two Shiny Pokemon visible in the game. This has led some to project that the upcoming event would introduce a new Shiny Pokemon. However, there has been no confirmation of this.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Niantic is thinking of adding a multiplayer feature to "Pokemon Go."
