The South Korea-based tech giant's flagship device is said to be adding a new feature to its smartphone. LG G6 will purportedly integrate the 3D facial scanning feature that is slated to be available in June.
The LG G6 has been officially released in the market. This new smartphone is focusing on its new security features. Initially, it sports a fingerprint scanner. In addition to that, it appears that there will be another security feature coming. A report from an investor claims that it will be sporting a 3D facial scanning feature as well and such software update will most likely happen this June, Digital Trends writes.

Trusted Reviews details that LG has been in the works with Oez which is a facial recognition solutions company. Having discussed and finished some negotiations and tests, it seems that LG G6 would indeed be having the aforesaid facial scanning software. Moreover, it is expected that the new software will be launched with LG Pay in South Korea by June.
Note that this new security software hasn't been officially confirmed yet. However, as soon as this speculation becomes true, CNET reports that the South Korea-based tech giant will be the very first company that will be using a facial scanning feature in their smartphone for mobile payments.
It is worth noting that most, if not all, mobile payments are done via the fingerprint scanner. Rumor mill has it that Apple will most likely use the same feature but there isn't any confirmation about it yet.
The security options for the recently released Samsung Galaxy S8 doesn't even include facial recognition. Others think that the said feature is visualized as to be only for fun given that it can be easily tricked by unlocking the device just through a photograph.
Meanwhile, LG is finalizing its payment system that is slated to be released in June as well. The company confirmed such detail in Reuters last March. With this, all yearlong speculations and missed deadlines would come to an end.
