Google Photos has a new video stabilization feature. This feature was announced in August last year and is currently being rolled out as part of an update for Photos v2.13 on Android.

Adding stabilization to Google Photos app would enhance results further if a user is working with hardware OIS, or improve recordings if the user's phone lacks a feature to steady things, The Verge reported. This feature is pretty straightforward, but it will amaze a lot of users.

While the edited video is cropped, the original clip will remain in the Photos library.

How Does it Work?

Inside the Photos app, the user may open any video that is stored on the phone or from the cloud and tap the pencil symbol, which serves as the edit icon. The user needs to tap the Stabilize option below the video on the left side. After tapping on it, the video will then start to process.

The waiting time depends on the video's frame rate, size, and the processing capability of such device. Once the stabilization is complete, the video will then be available for viewing.
