The new raid-centric event is currently ongoing, with a total of three available in the Director that players take on at 390 Light and Wrath of the Machine being added next week.
Speaking on the subject of "Destiny 2," community manager David Dague noted that the team were working hard to get everything in place for the new reveals, Express reported.
"Destiny 2" will feature a new storyline involving a Cabal invasion on earth and every Guardian who survived the attack must rally together to fight back and reclaim their home. Several gamers made their own theories and speculations regarding "Destiny 2's" new game features.
One of the many theories is the combat system in "Destiny 2" as Bungie plans to handle classes and abilities in the game. It has been hinted that gamers will likely expect a new Guardian class and sub-classes in "Destiny 2" a deeper, more RPG-focused class system that really makes each character feel unique. Having one subclass means more customization options.
Another popular theory is that "Destiny 2" will are new sub-classes and they are based on new elemental concepts. Decay has been an idea tossed around for a while now in the "Destiny" community, and perhaps something similar could make its way into the sequel.
Bungie could rework the combat system to be less subclass based and it will be something new and less element-based. Gaming fans are also interested to see "Destiny 2" go for a more freeform RPG experience, offering players a single, more expansive skill tree.
Meanwhile, Microsoft Studios chief Phil Spencer made an interesting comparison of "Destiny 2" to that of "World of Warcraft" as he told Gamasutra that the sequel is one of the games that will last about five, six or seven years.
While Bungie has yet to confirm any sort of gameplay or mechanics for "Destiny 2," the idea that it can continue to live for years after launch as Spencer believes seems very plausible.
Activision previously confirmed that "Destiny 2" has a new system which lets the developer deliver a steady stream of content to keep players better engaged and the game alive and growing. There have been times in the past three years that "Destiny" suffered from lengthy content droughts, even prompting some of its high profile players to publicly complain, Gamerant reported.
Previous reports revealed that "Destiny 2's" two expansions will have a release date in the winter this year for the first, while the second is expected on Spring 2018. In addition, Bungie will also showcase something new for "Destiny 2" on May 18.
"Destiny 2" will be available on Sept. 8 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
