Though the coliseum map could be seen as a dev-only test map to gather data on character changes in "For Honor," the map looks too fleshed out for only that purpose.
Ubisoft has plenty of maps at their disposal and the one shown in the video is not just a floor with bare, surrounding walls. The map has various levels, doors, and design. Just by looking at it, the developers added "life" to the coliseum map with the various architectures and design choices.
While Ubisoft has not yet given any new details for the Centurion hero, it is hinted that the character is played like the Vanguard class, but with has its own unique blend of skills. Depending on how Ubisoft want to release their DLC characters, players may only see the Centurion when the coliseum map is released, or they add them with the Ninja and Highlander classes together, PvP Line reported.
In other news, the latest patch update in "For Honor" is now available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
According to Ubisoft's blog website, the patch 1.06 will focused on stabilizing the game in terms of frame rate, connectivity and heroes.
The Peacekeeper, Lawbringer, Warden, Berserker, Orochi, and Shugoki are getting tweaked, and as well as bug fixes, performance is getting addressed.
Frame rate is being increased in "For Honor" menus and during matches, and LODs (Level of Detail) on ambient FX are now dynamically adjusted during matches to help ensure optimal performance.
In terms of development, Ubisoft established that in certain situations, when "For Honor's" performance drops below a certain threshold, the simulation could suffer and eventually halt because it has reached a point that is unrecoverable, often seen as errors 06000018 and 06000021.
Thus, the network and performance optimizations were prioritized as they target areas of the game that are susceptible to cause an impact to game stability. While the errors can still occur within the game, Ubisoft hopes to have addressed a good portion of its root causes.
Furthermore, the networking optimizations will help reduce the impact that a player with a bad connection has on the others in the match.
Lastly, elite outfits for all 12 heroes were also introduced in the patch update and players can find them in the heroes' customization menu.
"For Honor" is currently available on the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
