The Kaby Lake-X, Skylake-X, and Coffee Lake were originally scheduled to be launched at the end of July. Apparently, due to the increasing popularity of the Ryzen chipset, Intel has chosen to replace the launch date to May, according to Gadgets 360.
Apart from rescheduling the product launch, Intel recently announced the cancellation of its long-running annual Intel Developer's Forum conference. The forum served as a platform for the company to boast of their latest products and roadmaps.
The cancellation of the event shows that Intel might be reconfiguring its approach in this post-PC age. It is also believed that the company may want to add more core counts to its Core i series to compete with AMD's latest and relatively cheap Ryzen.
Meanwhile, some information about Intel Coffee Lake recently surfaced online. The Coffee Lake SKUs has reportedly shown up on the SiSoftware database, according to Wccf Tech. The sighting mainly involves the Coffee Lake 6 core and four core processors. It is believed that the mainstream desktop CPU will come with a 3.5 GHz base clock. This speed may be increased when the final chip will be ready for shipping.
