Xbox Project Scorpio
The Xbox Project Scorpio is advertised by Microsoft as "the most powerful console ever," but muscle alone will not win the battle against its rival - the PlayStation 4 Pro from Sony. A report said it is the latter that will emerge the winner as there are too many things tilting in favor of the PS4.

Sure, Project Scorpio is a muscle car and Geek.com agreed on its report. "The system is capable of running games at native 4K resolution, has six teraflops of computing power, and comes with a built-in UHD player," the report said, adding Microsoft's decision to include backward compatibility feature with the upcoming console will surely win hearts.
But when it comes to the actual purchase decision, many gamers will likely think hard before shelling out top dollars for the Project Scorpio that Microsoft said will not come cheap. Geek.com said the new Xbox will likely sell starting at no less than $400 and it will be hardly surprising if the asking price gets inflated to $500 in some markets.
The report said Project Scorpio's high price will prove a big turn off considering that the PS4 is ready to take home for as low as $250. And forking out $400 will get one the PS4 Pro, which admittedly is slightly inferior to the Scorpio but not too remote in terms of performance of capabilities. In the end, it is the Sony console that will deliver the best bang for the buck, which for many gamers is of prime concern when owning a console.
And paying up north of $400 or up to $500 seems unjustified for a gaming machine that will surely lag behind the PS4 when it comes to gaming title catalog. Geek.com said Microsoft's hardware is simply no match to the extensive software (that reads: rich game library) that the PS4 enjoys. Think of Gravity Rush 2, Yakuza 0, Nioh, Nier, Persona 5 and Horizon Zero Dawn, and the choice will be easy for many, the report stressed.
But what about the 4K content support that is default with the Project Scorpio. No doubt this is a plus for Microsoft but in reality the feature will be hardly appreciated. The dominant standard at the moment is 1080p and likely will remain so for the next few years. And that means the PS4 Pro is well into the fight on this respect.
Initially when the Project Scorpio is unleashed, the chance is high that it will outsell the PS4 due to the former's impressive specs and features. But according to Geek.com: "It will be a momentary, fleeting victory at best ... Scorpio won't defeat PS4 in the long run."
