It is understood likewise that the GS8+ with the specs-bump will be offered unlocked, meaning buyers can use the device elsewhere. It appears that the same is not true with the South Korean version of the same GS8+ model. Sam Mobile said in an earlier report that the device "will be available through Samsung, LG U+, KT, and SK Telecom," indicating that the handset will come with contracts.
The GS8+ with 6GB RAM will unpack boasting of the nearly the same specifications found on the regular version. The front panel Infinity Display that is stretched 6.2-inch will make use of the AMOLED screen technology. The camera setting is the same as the regular - 12MP on the rear shooter and 8MP on the selfie-optimized front camera.
And firing up everything is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 SoC. One notable thing about the Galaxy S8 Plus with higher RAM provision is it will be more optimal for the DeX docking station that will permit the use of the handset as a desktop computer. In fact in South Korea, DeX is bundled with the product.
SamMobile also noted on its report that since the 6GB RAM GS8+ is unlocked, soon enough the device will find its way to online auction site eBay, which should appeal to buyers where the model is not offered. However, the pricing is certainly inflated.
As for the official pricing, the same report said the Galaxy S8 Plus with 6GB RAM will cost no less than $1000 in Korea and China so it's highly likely the same price tag will be in effect for Hong Kong buyers.
