"Halo 6" will double down on Master Chief's story. (YouTube)
343 Industries promises that "Halo 6" will bring Master Chief at the center of its story. In addition, the next entry to the Halo series will not feature any new playable characters.
This is according to the game director Frank O'Connor in his most recent interview with GamesTM magazine as reported by WCCFTech. He admitted that they marketed the game in a way that will bring surprise to the franchise fans but he acknowledged the mistake and learned their lesson.

O'Connor thought that Chief is just a "kind of a vessel" for the adventure and not necessarily a major character in the universe. "He's really just your entry into the universe," he said.
But over the last fifteen years, players have become attached to him and they began to fill in the gaps on the character and developed a genuine emotional attachment. He admitted that they certainly underestimated these possibilities with "Halo 5: Guardians".
He promised that they will double down on Master Chief's story and will give more focus on him in "Halo 6". He admitted that this is probably the easiest learning that they gained from the past title.
For those who know a little about John or Master Chief's character, IGN has gathered several things from the previous games that would introduce this interesting character to new players.
He is more than 40 years old when his adventure began and he is older than most popular action game heroes. When he was six years old, he was abducted from his home to become part of the Spartan training program. He became the team's squad leader when he was eight, went on his first live mission at fourteen and destroyed a Covenant ship.
John also brutally killed fellow UNSC soldiers who viciously attack him with fists and weapons. He defends himself by breaking their bones and smashing their organs with powerful strikes.
He punched a heat-seeking out of the sky with his advanced reflexes and Cortana's calculations. Master Chief is definitely a bad-ass. He blew up 500 Covenant ships in one mission between the events of "Halo 1" and "Halo 2".
The station he blew up is called Unyielding Heirophant, with 18 miles length and accommodating a large Covenant fleet of 500 ships. For more stuff about Master Chief, check out IGN's "9 things you probably didn't know about Master Chief".
"Halo 6" will be the third and final chapter in the "Reclaimer Trilogy" that is expected to launch for Xbox One and PC. Stay tuned for latest news and updates.
