The OnePlus 5 will reportedly be priced under $500. (YouTube)
Not only that the flagship killer OnePlus 5 is confirmed for a June 2017 release date, the Android-based handset is also said to be significantly cheaper than any of the Apple iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8. On release date, the OnePlus 5 will reportedly sell starting at $449.99.
The OnePlus 5 sticker price, if true, will prove more affordable than the Android flagship GS8 that Samsung sells starting at $720+ and even cheaper than the upcoming iPhone 8, which according to rumors will retail for no less than $1000 per units.

And when the OnePlus 5 package is considered then the device is shaping up as a true flagship killer. Speculations are rife the 2017 refresh will boast of the same screen profile that Apple has introduced with the GS8 - an all-screen and bezel-less front display that is also expected of the iPhone 8.
The OP5 is also rumored to unbox with Qualcomm's powerhouse Snapdragon 835 SoC that leaked details said will be supported by a whopping 8GB of RAM provision. And the battery of the handset is said to be larger than the competition, likely exceeding the 3400mAh package that was included with the OnePlus 3T.
However, it's important to note that the $449.99 online pricing listed by Geekbuying.com is far from confirmed but not entirely impossible. The tag is only a $50 premium of the original selling price for the OnePlus 3T when introduced so the pricing will likely turn out true.
In earlier reports, OnePlus CEO Peter Lau has hinted that the next-generation handset from his company will boast of big changes, which many interpreted as monster spec jumps from the OnePlus 3T. Yet the tease from Lau could also mean that the OnePlus 5 will enjoy better firmware support than its predecessors, which could mean the device will have more frequent OS updates or a near-Stock Android version.
As mentioned, the OnePlus 5 release date is happening as early as next month if the 2017 summer release date supposedly confirmed by the Chinese device maker will prove accurate, 9to5Google reported.
