Qualcomm has recently unveiled the Snapdragon 660 and Snapdragon 630. These new mobile processors are intended to boost the performance of mid-range devices.
The new mobile processors will serve as an update to the previous Snapdragon 625 and Snapdragon 653 mobile processors. Since it would act as an upgrade, users will experience an improved performance of their devices, especially on the gaming department.

As a preview to its specs, Qualcomm's 660 comes with a 4+4 octa-core arrangement, clocked at 2.2GHz with 1MB of L2 cache, according to Android Authority. The 660 model has been equipped with a powerful Adreno 512.
Inside the latest chipset is an improved X12 LTE modem, Bluetooth 5. For charging purposes, a Quick Charge 4 has been added, along with USB Type-C with 3.1-speed compatibility.
On the other hand, Qualcomm's 630 variant also offers an upgrade and great improvements as compared to its predecessor. It also comes with the same octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 configuration as before. However, it is clocked slightly higher at 2.2GHz, giving it at least 10 percent boost over the 625 model.
As for its GPU, it features a more powerful 508 GPU, compared to the previous 506 GPU. Similar to the 660, the 630 also has Quick Charge 4, USB Type-C with 3.1 speeds, and Bluetooth 5.
The release of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 and the Snapdragon 630 will surely improve the experience of mid-range smartphone users. For gaming fans, improved GPU and CPU performance will surely mean prettier, smoother games and other entertainment options, according to Engadget.
Moreover, with the improved modems and transceivers, it is expected that connectivity will likely improve as well. The use of these chipsets will significantly improve communication and wireless connectivity even through a brick and concrete wall.
