The latest updates for "Injustice 2" will feature factions in the story mode, formation of guilds and an eSports championship series.

NetherRealm Studios streamed a new trailer for "Injustice 2" summarizing everything the sequel has to offer to die-hard DC comic fans and players who are a new to the sequel. It is during the explanation of the story mode that viewers found something interesting as four factions are revealed in the game.

The first faction is the Regime which is led by Superman and its members include Wonder Woman, Robin, Cyborg and Black Adam. The Insurgency is led by Batman and consist of Harley Quinn, Green Arrow, Black Canary, The Flash, Green Lantern etc.

The next faction is the Society led by Gorilla Grodd and consist of several major DC villains like Cheetah, Catwoman, Bane, Poison Ivy, Deadshot, Captain Cold and Reverse-Flash. The fourth faction in "Injustice 2" will focus individual characters such Supergirl, Swamp Thing and Aquaman who are not joining any faction.

The "Injustice 2" trailer also revealed that players can form or join guilds of 50 players, as they can fight other guilds to obtain more rare and powerful loots for them to customize. They can also earn more gear by participating in daily and weekly cooperative objectives as they collaborate with friends to climb the worldwide leaderboards, Gematsu reported.

In other news, Warner Bros. Games announced an "Injustice 2" Championship series tournament with prize of $60,000.

The tournament consist of fout different categories; the International Pro Series, the United States-based Gamestop Hometown Heroes, the Europe-based Path To Pro, and the Latin America-Based LIGA Latina. The tournament will start on May to September and winners can have $60K in each category.

The finalists in each of these "Injustice 2" contests will participate in an even bigger tournament called the Global Grand Finals, which will contain an even bigger prize for the biggest winner, Heroic Hollywood reported.

NetherRealm announced the three DLC characters in "Injustice 2" which consist of Red Hood, Starfire and "Mortal Kombat" fighter Sub-Zero.

"Injustice 2" will launch on May 16 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
