2K Sports has announced the official release date of "NBA 2K18". It has also confirmed that Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal will be gracing the cover of its Legend Edition and Legend Edition Gold.

The next title in the 2K Game's basketball video game franchise will be out on Sep. 19. It will arrive across PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Windows PC and Nintendo Switch, IGN reported.

In the game's official announcement trailer, O'Neal thanked NBA 2K for showing its continuing support for his basketball and broadcast career. He also said that he is excited to be on the cover of the upcoming "NBA 2K18" Legend Edition.

"I hope my fans have a blast playing it up big man style and re-creating my most legendary in-game moments," he exclaimed. This is the third time that Shaquille O'Neal has appeared on the cover of NBA 2K games.

He appeared first on the cover of NBA 2K6 and second on "NBA 2K7". But it will be Shaq's first appearance on the game's Legend Edition according to Forbes.  .

There will be three editions for the "NBA 2K18" this year:  Standard Edition, Legend Edition and Legend Edition Gold. Those who pre-order the game will get the four-day early access to any of the editions and along with some extra digital stuff.

Legend Edition is packed with 20 MyTEAM Packs including a Guaranteed Shaq Card and Team2K Card, Shaq Attaq Shoes, Shaq Jerseys and Apparel, A Championship Ring, and 100,000 VC.

Legend Edition Gold is packed with all the contents of Legend Edition, additional 150,000 VC, 20 Additional MyTEAM Packs and Shaq's Jersey Collection.

There are also two different covers for "NBA 2K18" and each one captures Shaq in his signature pose, also with the two teams that he led to NBA championship glory, the Los Angeles Lakers and  the Miami Heat.
