Samsung has confirmed the refurbished Galaxy Note 7R will start selling in South Korea this coming June with Vietnam and India as reported next destinations for the phablet flagship relaunch. Those planning to buy have two compelling reasons to go for it - cheaper tag price and safer design.

The latter, according to BGR, was achieved by implementing two key adjustments to the Note 7. One was to downsize the battery from the original 3500mAh. With the resurrected Note 7, the battery pack is down to 3200mAh that supposedly is less prone to overheating that could lead to device explosion.

And to further ensure that the Note 7R is explosion proof, the smaller battery was complemented "with bigger safety margins and more room around the cell." The slight redesign is intended for the device to dissipate heat more efficiently. Per the same BGR report, this appears to be one of the chief reasons the FCC granted its seal of approval for the sale of the refurbished Galaxy Note 7.

Beyond the safety features and the Note 7's powerful features, one reason that should convince Android fans to go buy the device is the price tag. A rumor picked up by Android Authority Samsung will offer up to 50 percent price off in order to make Note 7 fly off the shelves.

This was in contrast with the earlier reports that the Note 7R will retail for $620, which for many proved a big turn off. But if the latest information from South Korea will prove correct then shoppers may give the refurbished Note a hard second look.

The report noted that during the original launch, the Galaxy Note 7 was sold starting at $850 in the U.S. so lopping off half of that amount will make the device ready to take home for $425, which by any account is dirt cheap for a flagship device that screams might and beauty at the same time.

Take note, however, that the 50 percent price cutback is yet to be confirmed by Samsung but it's very likely that the Galaxy Note 7R will jump out of the box powered by the combo of Android Nougat and Exynos 8890 (or Exynos 8895 as indicated in recent leaked details).
