The following comic books with the "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" variants include "BLACK PANTHER" #17, "CHAMPIONS" #11, "DEFENDERS" #4, "DOCTOR STRANGE" #24, "THANOS" #10, "VENOM" #153 and many more, PvP Live reported.
Could these mean that players will get to see Venom, Thanos, Doctor Strange, Black Panther and members of the Champions and the Defenders in "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" soon?
Venom, Thanos and Doctor Strange have already made their appearances in the "Marvel vs. Capcom" series, while Black Panther, the Champions and the Defenders have not yet been introduced as playable characters.
The game's lead producer Mike Evans told VG 24/7 that d that the development team had a “huge” list of characters to go through when it started finalizing the roster. While Marvel did help in making recommendations and providing insight into its massive universe, the comic book publisher voluntarily stepped out to let Capcom pick the characters they wanted in "Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite."
Ong explained that when it comes to fighting games, Marvel let Capcom decide the who's who of characters they want in the sequel as they feel that the Japanese publisher is an expert when it comes to decision making. He added that Marvel did not forced Capcom to include characters just so that they could tie-in with an upcoming movie.
An example of this is Rocket Raccoon, who was picked solely by Capcom and had nothing to do with "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" film.
Other characters who are joining the roster include Dante, Frank West, The X-Men, Star-Lord, Regina, Maximo and even S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson.
"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will launch on Sept. 19 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
