Pharah will have an interesting outfit that seems to mixed between Middle Eastern and Pacific Northwest Native American iconography. This has raised a few eyebrows amongst fans, but Blizzard has been teasing for some time that Pharah is of Egyptian-Native American mixed ancestry.
Soldier: 76 will sport an orange cybernetic body with two noticeable prosthetic feet and Zarya will have a mech inspired battle suit, ComicBook reported.
Blizzard previously revealed new map areas in Temple of Anubis, Dorado and Eichenwalde, as well as new dance emotes for Sombra, Lucio and Zenyatta.
In other news, Game director Jeff Kaplan announced that he and his team are working on new animated shorts for "Overwatch" in its second year.
The first season of "Overwatch's" animated shorts started in "Recall" and ends with "The Last Bastion" which tells the origin stories of the some of the beloved characters within the game like Tracer, Widowmaker, Winston, Soldier: 76, Sombra and many more.
These animated shorts not only served as a way to build hype prior to the release of "Overwatch," it also presents a unique and fun way of expanding the game’s universe and lore. Kaplan explained that due to the lack of gameplay and storytelling restraints that come with animation, as well as numerous heroes that have yet to feature in the format, it was a good enough reason to get working on a new series of shorts for the game.
However, there might be a downside to it as Kaplan and the "Overwatch" team migh not add new events for the game in year 2.
While the game director “never” dash the possibility of making new events, Kaplan thinks that his team will just be refining the events that were already featured, rather than adding new ones such as the :Summer Games" which brought Lucioball or "Halloween Event" which introduced "Junkenstein’s Revenge," would include adding new content and "modifying" the things that are not working before, Gamerant reported.
The Anniversary event for "Overwatch" will start on May 23 until June 12, with the addition of another free to play of the game May 26-29 in all gaming platforms. The " Game of the Year" Edition of "Overwatch" will launch on May 23 and players will have ten Loot Boxes with random items such as credits, skins, emotes, poses voice lines, sprays and highlight intros.
"Overwatch" is currently available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
