Tesla Self-Driving Car Level 4 Autonomy / Youtube
Tesla cars have paved the way for electric cars to gain a lot of attention and praises, owing the great success to the man behind the development, Elon Musk. However, recent reports have placed the self-driving tech of Tesla into a bad light.
In a study conducted by Dr. Heather Knight, an expert in human robotic interfaces, who also is currently doing a post-doctoral research in social robotics, the system of Tesla's self -driving tech has flaws and will endanger the lives of bikers.

The car is unable to recognize cyclists, which is a great problem, especially on the road. Dr. Knight started her study by taking a colleague for a drive using the Tesla car. Moreover, Dr. Knight wanted to know if Tesla has passed the expectations about human- robot interaction.

Unfortunately, the self-driving tech is not at all reliable, as there have been accidents linking the Tesla cars to bikers' injuries. In 2016, a driver of a motorcycle was injured after Tesla failed to recognize him. Dr. Knight also recommends never to use Tesla autopilot around bicyclists.
It was not at all negative for Tesla as it is able to recognize cars, in fact, it is fairly accurate in classifying cars. The main problem with Tesla, as pointed out by Dr. Knight, is that the system presents inaccuracies in detection.
With this problem in the Autopilot Tech, Elon Musk is still facing big challenges in developing his Tesla cars. It is said that Tesla has made it clear to drivers should pay attention to their surroundings while keeping their hands on the steering wheel because the autopilot system, is not autonomous.
Elon Musk will have to improve the Tesla cars to improve its accuracies. Stay tuned for more Telegiz update.
