"Mass Effect: Andromeda" may receive new content from one of the many races in game's lore, the Quarians. This piece of information has been recently revealed from the game's latest multiplayer mission briefing. 

It dropped a big hint where it involves a Remnant observatory that gathered a transmission log that when analyzed sounds Quarian: "...trying to boost the signal. Unknown if... tech seems to be helping even if we don't know the... back to Keelah Si'yah. ...way home," Eurogamer reported.

Fans of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" have been hoping for playable Quarians in both the game's multiplayer mode and single-player campaign. However, this may not happen soon as the team dedicated to the game's development is turned into a support studio.

According to Kotaku, the Mass Effect series is now "on ice" following Electronic Arts' disappointment with Andromeda. Developer BioWare Montreal is now a support studio, Kotaku said, helping out with the company's big new "live service" IP, codenamed Dylan.

Several BioWare Montreal employees are now transferred in another studio to work on "Star Wars Battlefront 2". Those who remain at BioWare Montreal now work on a new IP code-named "Dylan" which is expected to be revealed at Sony's E3 event.

While it does not mean that there will be no more Mass Effect series, it appears that it is on hold for now. But the developer will still continue to patch and support the game's multiplayer.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda"was one of the top performers when it was released in March alongside Ubisoft's "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands", contributing to a total of $8 billion digital video game sales hit on that month.

It even got two "Most Anticipated Game" awards in 2016. But it did not sustain the hype as fans and critics "scoffed at its writing and animation."

Electronic Arts has yet to confirm this piece of information on possible addition of Quarians to the game. At this time, it is deemed that fans may not play Quarians soon as a story DLC for "Mass Effect: Andromeda".
