OnePlus 5 to Keep Flagship Killer Status with Starting Price of $450 with Premium Specs Bumps?
OnePlus quickly gained popularity by selling beautiful and powerful smartphones with affordable pricing and it appears the same business model will be in use with the upcoming OnePlus 5 release date. A new report said the handset, true to form as flagship killer, will cost no more than $450.

The pricing estimate runs in counter with the swirling rumors that one with huge hardware upgrades planned for the OP5, OnePlus will be forced to implement price hike. Starting price for the next-gen device will be around $650 or in the same league with Samsung's Galaxy S8 and Apple's iPhone 7S series.
But according to Android Headlines, the OnePlus 5 becoming pricy will make the device inaccessible to the majority of OnePlus fan base and will surely contradict "OnePlus' motto and philosophy." It could be that the next offering will cost more than the OnePlus 3T but the price bump will not be too high.
The same report is convinced that rumors of OnePlus 5 selling at an expensive price point are not credible, adding that the Chinese device maker will not sell the basic model for no more than $500. The sweet spot would be $450, which is for the OnePlus 5 with 64GB internal memory and 6GB of RAM support.
It is believed that a deluxe edition of the OnePlus 5 with 128GB of storage capacity and 8GB RAM will be made available but the Android Headlines report did not offer a pricing estimate.
Leaked details and speculations have so far indicated that the handset will sport a 5.5-inch AMOLED display in QHD screen resolution. The power inside the mobile device will be due to Snapdragon 835 chip, the inclusion of which has been confirmed both by OnePlus and Qualcomm.
And as shown in numerous leaked images, the OnePlus 5 will be equipped with dual rear camera, likely a combo of two 13-megapixel shooters. This remains unconfirmed but if the latest teaser from OnePlus is to go by then "the OnePlus 5 will have a stellar camera performance," BGR reported.
Android Headlines said the OnePlus 5 is sure to include fast charging feature as it will have a USB-C port but it will not be governed by Qualcomm's Quick Charge technology. Instead, the device will feature OnePlus' proprietary Dash Charge tech that the report said will permit quick charging of up to 60 percent in just 30 minutes.
OnePlus also indicated that OxygenOS with the OnePlus 5 will more optimized than ever and will get firmware updates and security with greater frequency. The OnePlus 5 release date is rumored to happen as early as June 15.
