OnePlus 5 to Keep Flagship Killer Status with Starting Price of $450 with Premium Specs Bumps?
Rumors indicate the OnePlus 5 release date is likely to happen on June 15 and the latest hints from OnePlus appear to support this scenario. For one, a poster just leaked out that seemingly confirmed the launch timing and OnePlus said Android O will be part of the flagship killer team.

OnePlus top man Pete Lau has announced in a Twitter post that "Android O will come to OnePlus 3 and 3T." According to 9to5Google, the executive did not provide a specific timeline on the Android O rollout for the devices will happen but the statement served as the confirmation that at least most recent devices from the company will get the new Android treatment that Google will soon deploy.
And the 3T getting bumped up to the next Android should also mean that the OnePlus 5 when the time comes will absorb the same OS. Although it is unlikely that the OP5 will unbox with Android O, Lau's assurance that the OS version will soon come to the OnePlus world is a solid assurance of better firmware support, more so in the case of OnePlus 5.
Another indicator that OnePlus is ramping up the preparations for the next flagship killer's arrival is the company's ongoing poll via Weibo, China's most dominant micro-blogging site. OnePlus, BGR reported, is crowdsourcing on the final make of the OnePlus 5 retail box. Fans were given eight design options to choose from - five white box variants and three reds.
And then a red poster was circulated on the web that supposedly has the details on the planned OnePlus 5 unveiling. The teaser includes the familiar OnePlus logo, the June 15 date and 15:00 that seems to tell the OP5 launch event will begin at 3PM. But to be clear there is no indication the leaked poster has the blessings of OnePlus.
In any case, the flood of details on the OnePlus 5 continue to flow in that only bolstered the perception release date of the device is about to happen. It has been confirmed the OP5 will be fired up by Snapdragon 835 and the RAM provision could go as high as 8GB RAM.
But perhaps the most important known details leaked out so far is that on release date the OnePlus 5 will carry on its flagship killer image by selling for no more than $450, contradicting the recent suggestion that due to premium hardware specifications the device will retail starting at $650.
