The Apple HomePod is a new Siri enabled smart home speaker that is built to enrich the music experience at home.

According to Apple Newsroom, the Apple HomePod features a set of seven tweeters at the bottom and it includes a 4-inch woofers with automatic bass EQ at the top. It is also fitted with six microphones so that it can listen to user's voice easily. The Apple A8 chipset that powers the iPhone 6 is also powering the all new HomePod.

Setting up the HomePod is super easy as it only requires the user to hold it next to it so that it can be identified. Once identified, it will start playing music in no time. Apple has added spatial awareness on HomePod. What does it do? It allows the smart speaker to easily identify the room's space and accordingly play music that suits the ambience.

The HomePod is integrated with Apple Music that allow users to access its 40 million songs seamlessly. It is equipped with the intelligence of Siri which makes it possible to get responses to questions like "Who is the singer of the song?" or "Who is playing the guitar in the song?" Siri can also perform various kinds of task like setting reminders and sending messages.

It can also provide users with updates on news and weather and it can be also used to control smart devices. When outside, users make use of the Home app to remotely connect to the smart speaker. It is compatible with all the iOS devices running on iOS 11, Gizmo China reported.

Apple HomePod will be hitting the markets like the U.S., the U.K. and Australia in December 2017. Other markets are expected to receive it in 2018. It will be available in colors like black and white. The Apple HomePod is priced at $349.
