The upcoming OnePlus 5 flagship killer is expected to be priced under $500. (YouTube)
The OnePlus 5 will be made available at a higher price relative to the OnePlus 3T but no more than $500. And the commercial debut will happen one day after the confirmed June 20 release date, reports said.
Leaked posters and the confirmation from OnePlus indicated the OnePlus 5 unveiling is happening June 20 but as expected it will be a phase rollout and unsurprisingly, getting the next-gen flagship killer first are Chinese buyers. WCCFTech reported the OnePlus 5 will hit China on June 21.

Then on June 22, it'll be the turn of Indian buyers as the same report pointed to a post by Amazon India, which indicated the handset will be offered through the online store. This is in line with the earlier statement from OnePlus that the OP5 will ship out globally. However, no launch dates yet have been provided for OnePlus 5's availability in other markets.
The OnePlus 5 like the previous OnePlus models is expected to sell in North America, Europe and select Asian markets.
The same report by WCCFTech suggested the OnePlus 5 will sell starting at $415 but it's expected that buyers outside of China will need to pay more. In India, for example, the new handset is reportedly priced higher than the OnePlus 3T, specifically the 3T model with 128GB of storage and 6GB RAM.
According to Business Today, the most premium OnePlus 3T originally sold for $480 and likely the OnePlus 5 price tag will be of the same level or slightly higher. The report suggested the OnePlus 5 starting price will be no more than $500 but it will also mean the 128GB OP5 will breach the same price mark.
As claimed by earlier reports, the OnePlus 5 price hike will be justified by the handset's premium specifications, bannered by the Snapdragon 835 chip and up to 8GB of RAM support. But the latter is deemed by experts as an overkill that could put undue stress on the device's battery.
Also included in the mix is dual camera in horizontal orientation and front-located fingerprint sensor. Leaked renders of the OnePlus 5 seem to indicate of a design language already seen with the iPhone 7 Plus.
