Neil Druckmann has revealed why "The Last of Us 2" was a no-show during Sony's Press Conference when E3 opened yesterday. Apparently, it left a lot of expecting fans disappointed but developer Naughty Dog has a pretty good reason for its absence at this year's event.
Contrary to reports that "The Last of Us 2" will be joining the PS4 heavyweights at this year's trade expo, the follow-up to the critically acclaimed TLOU was missing at Sony's E3 2017 briefing. Expectations were high that it will close the show.

However, SCEA CEO Shawn Layden called on Insomniac Games, the developer of "Spider-Man", to do the honors instead. "Spider-Man" is also among the hotly anticipated PS4 exclusives, however, it might not have been what the audience had in mind.
The attendees seemingly rooted for "The Last of Us 2" to be icing on the cake but to no avail. Shortly after the presser, Naughty Dog's game director Neil Druckmann took to Twitter to reveal why its probable next masterpiece did not show up.
His tweet reads below:
Believe me, we're super excited to show you more of Ellie and Joel's 2nd journey, but right now it's Chloe and Nadine's time to shine.

Apparently, Druckmann is requesting the fans to check out its other project, "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy". The standalone expansion for "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" opened the show.
At this point, "The Last of Us 2" is still deep in development. Druckmann said via the official PlayStation blog earlier that the sequel is still ways off from release and it's still in early stages of production.
