Leaked render of the all-screen IPhone 8 with OLED display
Apple is rumored to deliver three new iPhone models to mark the smartphone brand's 10th year anniversary. The latest reports indicated the upcoming handsets will boast of wireless charging and enhanced waterproofing feature that will apply both on the iPhone 7S series and iPhone 8.

Citing the revelations provided by Apple manufacturing partner Wistron, Apple Insider said the next batch of iPhone updates will continue to enjoy waterproofing protection, presumably enhanced from the same feature deployed with the iPhone 7 in 2016. While Wistron held off on releasing detailed information, it is believed all iPhones will be IP68 certified.
That would mean the devices can stay underwater with depth of 1.5 meters for 30 minutes and emerged undamaged. The protection also includes resistance from dust intrusion, the report said.
Wireless charging is also included in the package but not the type, which claimed of the ability to top up without the device being rested on a charging pad, that was earlier reported. Instead, "the wireless charging in question is actually contact-based charging, accomplished by placing a handset onto a compatible charging pad or surface. It's rumored that all three new iPhones expected this fall will feature wireless charging," the report added.
It was suggested likewise that wired charging will continue to be part of the next iPhone but with USB 3.0 quick charging technology that is incorporated with the handset's Lightning port.
All the new features mentioned in the Wistron leak are to be implemented across the board, indicating the 4.7-inch iPhone 7S, 5.5-inch iPhone 7S Plus and 5.8-inch iPhone 8 will jump out of box sharing key features and functionalities.
Still, the iPhone 8 is rumored to debut with specific distinctions from the iPhone 7S series. MacRumors said the former will have an all-screen OLED display, longer battery life due to the redesign of the device logic board, a vertically oriented dual rear camera with AR functions and a significantly smarter Siri.
Also, the same report debunked the rumors that the iPhone 8 will be the most expensive of the line so far when released. It is estimated that the handset will sell starting at no more than $900 for the 64GB edition and at $999 for the most premium model with 256GB of internal memory.
Apple watcher Ming-chi Kuo has predicted that both the iPhone 7S and iPhone 8 will be unveiled as expected in mid-September. But the analyst warned only the 7S will sell immediately as release date of the iPhone 8 could be delayed until October or November 2017.
