The new design logo of the upcoming AMD Ryzen Threadripper.
The future sure looks bright for AMD Ryzen, especially that of the Threadripper CPU. The upcoming Intel Core i9 is at a tight spot as compared to AMD Threadripper, despite full specs and performance yet to be showcased.
Although the next generation CPUs from Intel and AMD are yet to come, reviews and commentaries about them abound online. Following the success of Ryzen processors, the Threadripper is likely to outwin once more Intel's Core i9 offering.

In retrospect, a famous YouTube channel Linus Tech Tips previously expressed their frustration with Intel's latest offering. Intel Core i9 is viewed by some tech experts as somethings "hastily done" just to counter the Ryzen effect.
On the contrary, the recent introduction of AMD Threadripper at the E3 2017 was warmly welcomed by experts and enthusiasts alike. PC Gamer even awarded the Threadripper as the best new hardware at the said expo, saying that it was the "coolest new PC hardware" they have seen at E3.
While the Skylake-X seemed to be a rational counter to AMD Ryzen 7 and the Threadripper processor, the Kaby Lake-X does appeal to senses at all. It is said as such for Kaby Lake-X offers no more cores, and only slightly higher performance than Kaby Lake, while Skylake-X offers more performance per core and more cores, according to Seeking Alpha.
However, despite the battle of cores being engaged by Intel against the 16-core Ryzen processors, experts believe that it would not necessarily be effective. Apart from the availability of game that takes advantage of more than four cores and eight threads CPUs, the pricing will also matter for consumers.
The core per core battle will only be significant for high-end desktop users who would like to have excellent PC performance while performing heavy tasks. Nevertheless, although the AMD Threadripper is outnumbered in terms of cores, it may still have some surprises along the way.
