As seen in the E3 2017 trailer of "God of War," Atreus uses specialized arrows to help Kratos figth off monsters and can land a killing blow to enemies when Kratos is doing something else, like climbing.
Balrog added that although Atreus is very useful in the game, there is a risk and reward system. Players can use him battle, but letting him fight too much and he will be overwhelmed in "God of War," SegmentNext reported.
In other news, it seems that the new "God of War" sequel will be abandoning the use of camera cuts.
Balrog told Eurogamer that the new God of War game will utilize the same cinematic technique of an extended single shot similar to the film "Birdman." The absence of any camera cuts will allow potential players to enter into the new world inspired by Norse mythology with an over-the-shoulder view point anchored by Kartos’ presence within it.
Gaming fans can expect "God of War" to have a single shot from the third-person perspective of Kratos. Undoubtedly, this decision will add a whole new layer of wonder and visual improvements to the proceedings, and with any luck Barlog will deliver on all of the promises that the series holds for many "God of War" fans.
Balrog previosuly revealed his reason why Kratos doe not have his signature Blades of Chaos as h explained that he and the game developers in Santa Monica were trying something new for Kratos in the new "God of War" sequel and have been experimenting on various weapons for him.
The game director added that the Blades of Chaos represents a dark and heavy experience for Kratos' life and described it as his "scarlet letter," wanting to move on from his past mistakes
"God of War" will launch on the early 2018 for the PlayStation 4.
