Broadwell vs Skylake
In 2015, we witnessed two major launches from Intel - the latest Broadwell chip, which is a quad-core fifth generation processor, was launched earlier in the year, while Intel's Skylake processor was launched the second half of the year. These two launches triggered hot debates and comparisons on which is the best processor across the globe.

Here's our brief take on which one is the best Intel processor:
Skylake Processors have higher power saving capabilities when compared with Broadwell. Hence, the Skylake CPUs will likely have a better battery life compared the other processor series. Secondly, Skylake based chips are with 4K video decoding capability so playing RAW, uncompressed files is possible. Another feature of the Skylake processor is the over lockable i7 processors for laptops.
Although Skylake offers many advanced features, the computers being used for day-to-day affairs seem to be standing well with Broadwell. The major reason for this unchanged loyalty is the result of Microsoft's announcement that it stops supporting Windows 7 and Windows 8 on computers with Skylake processors. Although the software giants have announced earlier that they will extend support for downgrades, later they clarified that the support to the Skylake powered PCs that are downgraded will not exist after this year.
However, the global market is expecting a boom in the near future from the Skylake powered premium devices. Although the expectations are high that the market is experiencing a supply problem too, as, according to many reports, there is a shortage for Skylake processor and this is clearly reflecting the decline in the shipment of devices using these processors. However, this situation will change after the first quarter of this year.
Apart from the delay, another major thing affecting the reputation of Skylake is the news taking round in various corners about its life. According to the reports, independent tests carried out by several professionals proved that third party coolers can damage this processor. They also pointed out that the thinner construction of the processor is the main reason for it.
