According to reports by Phone Arena, LG G5 had been tested online using model numbers - LG H830 and LG F700. Hence, a smartphone codenamed LG H840 signifies some connection to LG G5.
Specs of LG H830, as reported by benchmark listing, have been found to be slightly inferior to that of LG G5. BGR reported that LG H840 has a 5.3-inch screen with resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The screen size is lesser in comparison to LG G5 that offers a 5.5 inch screen.
According to BGR, LG H840's connectivity options include Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 and NFC. It has a 32GB internal memory supported by a 3GB of RAM and Adreno 510 GPU. It sports a Snapdragon 625 chipset compared to LG G5 that offers a superior Snapdragon 820 processor.
The rumored LG G5 lite version LG H840 features an 8 MP camera - both front and rear panels. However, rear primary camera may be expected to have better imaging capabilities and sensors than its selfie shooter.
It is reported that LG H840 is listed to be running on Android 4.4 Kitkat; however, many assumes that this may be some kind of a mistake. Many are speculating that LG H840 shall probably operate on Android Lollipop once it is released, and then be subsequently upgraded to Android Marshmallow.
According to reports, since LG had released LG G4 Beat along with LG G4, there are high chances that LG H840 may be released as a lite version of LG G5 at MWC 2016. However, people must wait until Feb. 21 and see whether this version will be released by LG.
