Last year, Microsoft had announced that the Windows 10 Mobile OS update would be available by December 2015. However, the Redmond tech giant failed to keep its promise. When the update did not arrive in December, the rumor mill suggested that the update would be available by January 2016, but it did not come true.

Fresh speculations suggest that the Windows 10 Mobile update will release by the end of this month, but there is no official confirmation from Microsoft on whether the update will be available by Feb. 29. Hence, the information shared by Microsoft Mexico employee cannot be totally trusted.

Currently, only few devices like Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL, Lumia 550 and Lumia 650 are preloaded with Windows 10 Mobile OS. For other Lumia devices, the Redmond giant has released preview builds of Windows 10 Mobile.

The Redmond giant has been constantly releasing preview builds which indicates that the company is working on stabilizing the functioning on the operating system. Since the current builds have positive reception from the user, the arrival of the Windows 10 Mobile update seems imminent.

Window 10 Mobile will be available for all the Lumia devices that are running on Windows Phone 8.1 OS with build number 8.10.14219.341 or higher. Lumia devices are also expected to have 1.5 GB of phone storage space and 50 percent of battery power for successful installation of Windows 10 mobile.

After the Windows 10 Mobile OS is released, Microsoft is expected to add new features through Redstone updates. The Redmond giant is speculated to release the first Redstone (RS1) update in June and the second Redstone (RS2) update will be released by the end of 2016.

Through the Redstone updates, Microsoft will introduce features like landscape mode for the Homescreen, enhanced native apps such as Office 366 and OneDrive, upgraded action center and more. Continuum for phones is expected to carry support for touchscreen monitor and 2K display, Nokia Power User reported.
