Microsoft has announced the major update for “Minecraft” for this year, offering new gameplay functionality to its Windows 10 Beta and Pocket Editions.

The major update of 2016 is called Overworld Update, which introduces redstone components that allow for advanced mechanical contraptions such as repeaters, hoppers, and dispensers to be created. It also brings with it the ability to create more advanced mechanical contraptions, fight new enemies, and play around with various cosmetically fun gameplay items, Venture Beat reported.

Minecraft players will have to collect more redstone components beforehand however. The new enemies in the “Minecraft: Pocket Edition” are Witches, and will appear randomly to attack players. Mostly, they gathered up in the swamp.

However, exploring the swamp will help players to find Witch Huts that contain a cauldron bubbling full of a randomly generated potion that players can claim as a spoil of war. These cauldrons will also allow players to dye their armor to an assortment of colors.

Other new gameplay changes added to “Minecraft: Pocket Edition” and “Minecraft: Windows 10 Beta” with the Overworld Update includes improved chicken jockey mobs, slime blocks, red sandstone, wearable pumpkins, Item Frames for a Minecraft player’s house.

The Item Frames allow a player to display their favorite loot around their “Minecraft” house. The Overworld Update also means players can hang game maps on the walls of their house, allowing players to plan their adventures with a world overview.

Overworld Update also comes with new skins and two of them, the Artisan and Composer, are free. On the other hand, the other 13 more are available in bundle for only $2.

The update also introduces the ability to import and export maps into the Windows 10 Edition Beta, making it easier for players to share their favorite worlds with friends. For those gamers who love racking up Gamerscore, there are eight new achievements on the Windows 10 Edition Beta totaling 170 additional Xbox Gamerscore that you can get. It includes Camouflage, Dispense With This, Tie Dye Outfit, Map Room, Trampoline Bounce, Freight Station, Smelt Everything!, and Tates of Your Own Medicine.

The “Minecraft: Windows 10 Beta” sells at $9.99.The “Minecraft: Pocket Edition” costs $6.99 and available for download on iOS, Android, Kindle and Mobile Windows. Those who have the Java/Mac version of “Minecraft” are eligible for a free download of “Minecraft: Windows 10 Beta,” according to iDigital Times
