Microsoft is rumored to release Windows 10 Mobile ROM for flagship smartphones from other OEMs such as Xiaomi Mi 5, OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 2

The Redmond giant has confirmed to a user on Weibo social networking site that it will be releasing Windows 10 Mobile ROM for OnePlus as well as upcoming smartphones like Xiaomi Mi 5 and OnePlus 3, Nokia Power User reported. Microsoft has already released Windows 10 Mobile ROM exclusively for users of Xiaomi Mi 4.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 that is going to be officially announced on Feb. 24. Some rumors suggest that apart from Android Marshmallow variant, the flagship will be available in Windows 10 Mobile edition too. However, fresh speculation indicates that it won't launch in Windows 10 Mobile version but a ROM of Microsoft's operating system will be made available for it.

It is interesting to note that the OnePlus 3 smartphone has not launched in the market. It is expected to arrive in the third quarter of this year. Even though its launch will happen few months later, the Redmond giant seems to be already working on ROMs for future devices.

According to the rumor mill, the OnePlus 3 will be arriving with a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen. It will be featuring the Snapdragon 820 chipset. It is expected to be available in two variants, a 16 GB storage model with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB variant with 5 GB of RAM.

It is expected to feature a 13 MP camera on its rear side. It will be housing a selfie shooter of 5 MP. A huge battery of 3500 mAh capacity is speculated to be present inside the OnePlus 3.

Last year in April, the news about Microsoft's collaboration with Xiaomi was revealed for testing the Windows 10 Mobile ROM on Xiaomi Mi 4. Now, a fresh report has surface that has revealed that Microsoft has partnered with Xiaomi and OnePlus to release Windows 10 Mobile ROM for more smartphones, Softpedia reported.

Microsoft is yet to release the final Windows 10 Mobile OS for its Lumia smartphone. Fresh speculations indicate that the company will be rolling out the update from Feb. 29. The only devices that are currently running on Windows 10 Mobile are Lumia 950, 950 XL, 550 and 650.
