The Android OS-powered BlackBerry Priv smartphone will be available through the U.S. carriers like Verizon Wireless, Sprint and T-Mobile. The company is planning to launch more Android smartphones in 2016.
An official tweet from the Vice-President of Communications with Verizon, Jeffery Nelson has confirmed that the carrier will be launching the BlackBerry Priv by the end of March, Phone Arena reported. The Verizon variant of the BlackBerry Priv was certified by Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in December 2015.

T-Mobile has confirmed that it will start selling the smartphone from Jan. 26. T-Mobile customers will be able to avail it through Jump On Demand program that allows users to switch up to three new smartphones a year. It is not known as to when Sprint will start supporting BlackBerry Priv
AT&T started supporting the BlackBerry Priv from November. It is selling the smartphone with an off-contract price of $699. Hence, the aforementioned carriers are also expected to launch the BlackBerry Priv with similar pricing.
The BlackBerry Priv is the first Android smartphone from the company. However, John Chen, the CEO of BlackBerry has confirmed that the company may unveil at least two Android OS-powered BlackBerry smartphones in this year, CNET reported.
Chen has also stated if the firm is unable to generate profits in this year, he would sell off the smartphone business. However, he is confident that BlackBerry will make profits in 2016. Since the sales of the BlackBerry have been impressive, Chen added that it was a correct decision from the company to venture into manufacturing Android smartphone.
It comes with a 5.4-inch display that is equipped with a sliding QWERTY keyboard. The display offers a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.
It is powered by Snapdragon 808 chipset and 3 GB of RAM. Its internal storage is 32 GB and it supports up to 200 GB of microSD on external storage. It comes preinstalled with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS. It is expected to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade early this year.
It comes with 18-megapixel OIS enabled rear camera and a front-facing camera of 2-megapixel. It is packed with a huge battery of 3410 mAh capacity that supports fast charging.
