'Ferris Bueller's Day Off'
Classic '80s movies include the 1986 comedy film "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The movie starring Matthew Broderick tells the story of a high school student who skips school with his girlfriend (Sloane) and best friend (Cameron) in order to take a tour of Chi Town that includes Wrigley Field and Sears Tower. Chicago will host a "Ferris Fest" festival on May 21 in honor of the blockbuster movie that earned 70.1M at the box office and has an 80 percent average rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The 1986 film was directed by the late John Hughes. It includes many classic scenes including ones with the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California that Ferris and his best friend "borrow" from Cameron's father.
On May 21 the movie will be screened in Lake Forest, Illinois at the John and Nancy Hughes Theater as part of Ferris Fest.
The event will be hosted by film critic Richard Roeper of the Chicago Sun-Times. It will include a Q&A session with Ferris' parents Lyman Ward and Cindy Pickett, and the French restaurant manager Jonathan Schmock, according to CNN.
Ferris Fest will also include a re-creation of the "Twist and Shout" parade scene. It features the 1961 song that became a Isley Brothers chart hit during the following year.
In addition, the festival organizers have planned a two-part bus tour. It will spotlight filming locations including Cameron's house, Glenbrook North High School parking lot, the Art Institute of Chicago, Wrigley Field, and Willis Tower (Sears Tower).
Each of the locations has a significance in the movie. The Art Institute is where the three truants look at Monet paintings, the parking lot is the place Ferris disguises himself as Sloane's father to pick her up from school, and the Chicago Cubs stadium is the location Cameron says his famous "sah-wing, batter" line, according to Yahoo.
A three-day festival ticket will cost $300. They include the opening night party, film screening, bus tour and admission to certain attractions, and access to a replica bedroom of Ferris Bueller.
Meanwhile, a one-day ticket for Saturday or Sunday is $175. Admission to the opening party on Friday night costs $25.
