Kanye West GoFundMe Campaign
Rapper and fashion designer Kanye West tweeted a week ago that he was $53 million in debt and asked Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg for $1 billion to develop his ideas. A GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign raised almost $8,000 within a 10-day period. After West refused the funds the campaign's launcher decided to give the money to an art-funding charity organization.

Jeremy Piatt launched the GoFundMe campaign for West. He chose Notes for Notes because it represents the same goals of the fundraising campaign.
The non-profit organization builds and equips recording studios inside Boys & Girls Clubs and schools. They include items such as guitars, drums, keyboards, and digital music stations.
All of the services are free. They allow kids to explore, make, and record music. The organization has existing and planned studios in cities such as New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, San Francisco, Detroit, and Austin.
Experts share it is wise to research an organization before making a donation. That is because if people are going to make a charity deduction on their tax returns the money should go to a qualified organization, according to Forbes.
In fact, it is on the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) tax-exempt list. The site's Select Check Tool can help people to check if an organization can legally receive tax-deductible charity donations.
Recently West completed his new album The Life of Pablo and last weekend was a guest on Saturday Night Live. He also claimed on Twitter that he was $53 million in debt after investing tens of millions of dollars in his fashion company.
In a string of tweets West claimed to be the greatest all-time artist and asked Facebook co-founder Zuckerberg for $1 billion.
In tweets on February 21, Sunday and Monday morning West asked Zuckerberg to call him because he claimed he is the social network CEO's favorite artist. He asked Facebook and Instagram users to ask Zuckerberg to support him, according to The Guardian.
West also requested help from Google co-founder Larry Page. In addition, he argued that Silicon Valley was more interested in launching African schools than helping him.
Pizza Hut UK then jokingly tweeted that West had been hired and should report to work at 9 a.m. the next day.
