2015 ended on a triumphant note with never-seen-before GPU's hitting the racks. Nvidia's Titan X card and GeForce GTX 980 Ti, AMD's Fury X were the show stealers; however, review websites are already abuzz with new generation products in the works. Intel, Nvidia, AMD and other tech giants have many interesting launches this year. Besides individual products, 2016 is set to bring in a host of across-the board technologies.

Presenting a brief peek into what 2016 is set to herald:

Tapping into Fin FET technology - Both GPUs and CPUs are expected to tap into the FinFETtechnology that shall allow them to become smaller, more efficient and seamlessly integrated. Akin to Intel's Tri-gate transistors, FinFET is the stepping stone from 28nm process to a faster, exciting world.

Nvidia's Pascal-based GPUs - Nvidia is slated to release its Pascal-based cards that are rumored to work 10 times as fast as and better than its Maxwell chips. It will have a 3D memory, greater bandwidth, greater sync between GPU and CPU so that data travels fast between them, and CPUs can access GPU's memory, a Pascal module that will put GPUs into more compact forms.

AMD's ZEN chips - These are rumored to be introduced by AMD in the latter half of 2016. They shall be based on a high performance core that is a major breakaway from AMD's earlier CPU designs. As expected, these promise to be faster than Intel's chips.

Intel's high end chips - Several leaks reported over the internet claim that Intel shall release chips- Broadwell -E, Kaby Lake- S, Skylake- E and Apollo Lake in 2016. PC World points out that the success of these chips would be decided by how many cores Intel decides to put in the CPU. According to rumors, Intel is planning a 10-Core version.
