Google has slipped to 8th position, with a rating of 4.3 out of 5, and Linkedin and Facebook, occupying the 6th and 5th rank respectively. In fact, the top position was taken by Airbnb, a startup company that provides room rental services in San Francisco. The reasons cited for becoming the top among world wide tech companies include vibrant workplace, amazing people and unbeatable culture.
Airbnb secured 4.6 out of 5, closely followed by Guidewire, with 4.5 points. For putting more emphasis on the growth of employees, being one of the reasons, Hubspot, a leading software company was ranked 4th with 4.4 rating. Others who made it to the top ten list includes Bain and Company, Boston Consulting Group, Nestle Purina PetCare and Zillow.
The most surprising news is that, neither Twitter nor Apple could make their places in the list, being ranked 26th and 25th respectively. Companies employing more than 1000 people and having received at least 50 Glassdoor approved company reviews for the past year are entitled to compete for being selected according to the consistency, quality and quantity of the reviews.
