Apple is making some important moves and Google stands to benefit while Amazon stands to lose. We understand that Apple has moved some of its iCloud services and data from Amazon's AWS to Google's cloud platform.

This comes off as a bid by Apple to diversify is cloud storage providers. Apple does not believe it is a good idea to have its eggs in a single basket that it does not have full control over.

We also have to wonder if the shift is only temporary seeing as Apple is currently working on its own data centers to host its own files. We're not sure when the Cupertino giant will be done with it, but whenever that happens, it is likely that both Google and Amazon will lose out on some significant earnings.

Google and Apple are major rivals in the smartphone space, but that never stopped them from working together before, so it won't stop them now or the next few years down the line.

It is possible that Apple is spending between $400 million to $600 million in this new deal with Google. No concrete reports yet, but this is the information floating on the web right now. The thing is, no one is sure if this amount will be paid to Google annually or if it is just a fixed thing.

"It's kind of a puzzler to us because vendors who understand doing business with enterprises respect [non-disclosure agreements] with their customers and don't imply competitive defection where it doesn't exist," said the AWS spokeswoman in an emailed statement sent to CRN late Wednesday.

Amazon's AWS will no doubt lose a lot of money because recent reports claim Apple spends $1 billion annually on AWS services, probably more money than what Apple would rather be spending.

Apple is also known for using Microsoft's Azure cloud platform to run its business, according to ZDnet. We understand this has been going on since 2011, and since then, the company has been contemplating on creating its $3.9 billion cloud infrastructure.

Chances are, Apple might decide to compete with Google, Amazon, and Microsoft instead of just using its cloud platform to power its services.
