Bermuda Triangle, also known as Devil's Triangle recognized for the mysterious disappearance of ships and planes, has always been a hotcake for researchers.

This controversial place is located at Atlantic Sea and stretches from Bermuda Island, to Puerto Rico and Miami, USA, and covers an area of 440,000 square miles of sea. However, U.S. Navy and the U.S. Board on Geographic Names, disapprove of the existence of this place. According to Atlas Obscura, Norwegian scientists have found new evidences that support old theory of oceanic flatulence as the reason behind some of the lost ships.

According to the scientists, the existence of many giant underwater craters at the bottom of Barents Sea is the probable reason. These craters are responsible for the gas blowouts. The gas that comes out of the craters undergoes a hydration reaction. Then it starts to decompose with methane ice turning into gas. The process can be imagined being like a nuclear reaction that produces high amount of gas. The result of this is heating up of ocean and sinking of ships with huge proportion of gases.

According to NZ Herald, the craters found at the bottom of the Barents Sea are nearly half mile wide and 150 feet deep. The burst from these cavities is the reason for the ships becoming prey to Devil's triangle. Norway has an abundance of natural gas.

According to Hello Travel, Christopher Columbus also noticed Bermuda Triangle, and his ship's compass stopped working there. The triangle has claimed 1,000 lives in the past 100 years, with an average of 4 aircrafts and 20 yachts disappearing every year. The compass at this place does not show magnetic North but true north, and therefore, cause confusion in the mind of navigator.

The explanation of Norwegian scientists seems to justify with the facts supporting the claims. In the coming time with the advancement in sciences, the actual reasons of the Devil's Triangle shall unfold the truth and burst the myths supported by true facts.
