Hurricanes, tornadoes and wildfires are harder to link with climate change due to lack of historical data in tropical regions.
More Americans are now taking global warming seriously, according to a new poll, where they believe that this can have significant effects during their lifetime.
According to polling firm, Gallup, who conducts yearly surveys on the global environmental issue for almost 20 years now, these new results from this recent poll are an indication that mass opinion are changing over time significantly.

For this March 2016 poll, more than 1,000 American adults originating from 50 different states have participated in this survey where the results revealed that 64 percent of them expressed their concerns about global warming and climate change as a great deal or on a fair amount, which is a record level of concern compared to 2008.
Apart from this, only 36 percent of Americans revealed that they did not feel alarmed or concerned by global warming, or are worried just a little bit, while 41 percent are fearing that their lives will be greatly affected by global rising temperatures.
According to climate scientist, Michael Mann from the Pennsylvania State University, this overall increase of warming temperatures all over different parts of the world in the past years, including an increasing amount of natural disasters such as droughts, massive flooding , wildfires, hurricanes and tornadoes, are considered as main driving factors that influenced public attitudes.
Mann states that this "warmth" felt by most of us puts a human face on the issue of climate change, reaffirming the results of this recent poll. Now, climate change denial is no longer plausible where the American people are slowly but surely recognizing that.
In addition, the poll revealed that 55 percent of Americans already believe that changes in climate and weather patterns are already occurring, where a record 65 percent of them are putting blame on the increase of human made greenhouse gases which is a great shift from last year's 55 percent. Now, only 31 percent of Americans believe that warming temperatures are caused by natural events.
Last 2014 poll, over 40 percent of Americans expressed that climate changes was being sensationalized by media however, more studies reveal more evidence about global warming leaving any doubt behind. On record, last year was the warmest year ever since record keeping started where scientists predict that this will be broken this year.
