According to the Shacker News interview with Luckey, when he was asked if the Mac and Oculus Rift would be compatible anytime, he said that if Apple is willing to build a new computer, it is definitely possible. He also said that higher-end GPUs have to be prioritized by Apple like before, then the Mac and Oculus Rift compatibility is possible.
The Oculus Rift's display is OLED, a refresh rate of 90Hz, an area of vision more than 100deg, 1080×1200 or 1080p resolution per eye. It consists of headphones that are integrated; give a 3D audio effect and the ability to trace the position and rotation. "Constellation" is the positional tracking technique, executed by a USB fixed IR LED sensor. It's usually placed on the user's work table. It sources the whole room with infrared and LED lights, forming a 3D space, letting the user use the Rift when standing, sitting, or walking in that room.
Apple and other big tech companies like Microsoft, Google and Sony are also working on building VR headsets. Luckey accepted the competition from these companies and also made a firm point that only the highly advanced Oculus Rift is capable of showcasing the technology's full capability. He said that everyone, from small to big giant tech companies, believe strongly that VR is going to be the upcoming leading computing platform.
