When tech giant Apple release iOS 9.3, some users complained a glitch made their devices completely bricked. Apple was quick to address the issue and recently released an updated build of iOS 9.3 specifically tailored to fix the activation bug experienced by several users.

The updated version of the operating system is still called iOS 9.3. However, it has an updated build number which is 13E5237. The updated iOS version fixes the activation bug which essentially prevents older iPad and iPhone models to completely upgrade their devices to the new version of the operating system.

Prior to the release of the updated iOS 9.3, Apple acknowledged the existence of the activation bug. The tech giant posted on its official support page a statement that reads, "Updating some iOS devices (iPhone 5s and earlier and iPad Air and earlier) to iOS 9.3 can require entering the Apple ID and password used to set up the device in order to complete the software update. In some cases, if customers do not recall their passwords, their device will remain in an inactivated state until they can recover or reset their password."

After Apple discovered and recognized what causes the glitch, the company stopped releasing the iOS 9.3 update to older devices in order to prevent the bug to spread to more users.

According to Forbes, the recently released version of iOS 9.3 is not the first update Apple released to patch the operating system. Just hours after the glitch was reported, Apple released a patched version of iOS 9.3 with build number 13E236 in order to prevent second generation iPad devices from becoming completely bricked.

Apple users have been eager to upgrade their devices to the latest version of iOS as it brings new features like Night Shift and Touch ID security support for the Notes app. Despite this massive hype, iOS 9.3 is reported to be one of the operating system's version with the most number of bugs and glitches even though it underwent seven beta releases.

There are some users claiming that when upgrading their devices to iOS 9.3 cause apps like WeChat, WhatsApp and even Safari to hang up.
