Nintendo Co., Ltd. is a Japanese multinational consumer electronics and software company headquartered in Kyoto, Japan.
Former Nintendo staff, Alison Rapp, has been fired recently by Nintendo. The termination is reportedly unrelated to controversies surrounding Social Justice Warrior Rapp, but speculations have aroused that this is not the case
Nintendo have denied allegations of firing Rapp over the harassment. A spokesperson said that the former Nintendo staffer have been moonlighting which is in conflict with the company policy. He also stated that while the termination follows the smear campaign against Rapp, the two are unrelated, as reported by The Verge.

Former Nintendo Staffer Rapp became the subject of harassment of certain groups, including GamerGate and the social media users after her supposed role in the breast slider removal from the localized version of the game "Xenoblade Chronicles X." Certain features of the game, as well as the Fire Emblems Fates were removed and this reportedly infuriated fans.
Rapp was the spokesperson of the team responsible for localizing the Japanese games. While she may not really have taken part in the removal of controversial features, being the spokesperson means she was the most visible member of the team so internet trolls took to her to vent out frustrations. Her attackers have branded her as a 'Social Justice Warrior' after discovering that she has spoken for changes in video game culture and social justice in the past.
GamerGate, allegedly behind the attacks, probed through her personal life and used any information they could find to push her termination. Some controversial tweets were brought to life and even items from her Amazon wish list that could embarrass her. Her essay from 2011 was also uncovered, which was entitled "Speech We Hate: An Argument for the Cessation of International Pressure on Japan to Strengthen Its Anti-Child Pornography Laws."
Nintendo received hatet over their decision of firing the Nintendo staffer in the wake of vicious harassment. Rapp, who claims that moonlighting is accepted in Nintendo of America, received support from high-profile developers and concerned individuals while expressing disappointment for Nintendo's supposed lack of support for their employee. One such individual is ex-NFL football player Chris Kluwe who posted an open-letter to Nintendo and criticized the company's move, The Guardian reported.
