Apple Watch Units
Apple uploaded a new series of Apple Watch ads to its YouTube channel on April 11, Monday that focus on different aspects of the smartwatch. Each 16-second commercial has a different colored background and shows one feature or app of the wrist wearable.
Three of the videos center on the fitness features of the Apple Watch and show a runner ("Chase"), golfer (Golf"), and rower ("Row). In the short ads the smartwatch wearers reach daily fitness goals and use the Workout app to track their workouts and compete with friends.

Meanwhile, the fourth spot is entitled "Find" and features the Glance feature on the smart watch to find an iPhone. Another new Apple ad is named "Swap" and spotlights the many band options that customers can choose, according to Mac Rumors.
The sixth video is named "Surprise" and shows an Apple Watch user operating the device to plan a surprise party. It focuses on the Messages app and controlling Internet of Things (IoT) products such as lights via HomeKit-connected products.
"Rain" is the last ad and features app notifications. An Apple Watch owner gets an alert from a weather app about a rain storm on the way, then opens an umbrella while everyone else gets soaked.
Several celebrities are featured in the new Apple Watch ads. They include musicians Nick Jonas and Alice Cooper, and actress Chloë Savigny. It continues the trend of famous people in past iPhone and Apple TV ads including actor Jamie Foxx, NBA player Stephen Curry, and Sesame Street character Cookie Monster.
In related news, the Apple Watch 2 will reportedly include improved internals but the external design will have few changes from the original wearable, according to Apple Insider. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo released details about the tech giant's second-gen watch.
Kuo reports that the watch will get a thinner profile in the 2017 upgrade. However, this year's "s" version like the iPhone upgrade schedule will focus on the wristwatch's internal components.
The Taiwanese analyst projects that Apple Watch sales will hit 7.5 million units this year and believes 10.6 million units were shipped last year.
It is also unclear when the next Apple Watch will launch. However, it could be rolled out at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, or with the iPhone 7 in September.
