Rumors are rife that Samsung will release a new Galaxy C series smartphone in the near future.

A new Galaxy C series smartphone has been spotted on GeekBench 3 benchmarking site. The alleged smartphone that has a model number of SM-C5000 features upper-midrange specs. It has scored 609 and 3147 on single-core and multi-core CPU tests, respectively. This indicates that the South Korean tech giant is working on a new series of smartphones, Phone Arena reported.

Speculations are rife that the C series phones will be designed for Chinese audience. However, it will be sold in other countries. In the previous month, the Samsung SM-C5000 was spotted on Zauba, an Indian website that tracks import export data. It had listed the smartphone with a 5.2-inch sized screen.

The CM-5000 is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 617 chipset that will be featuring a 64-bit octa-core processor and Adreno 405 graphics. The chipset will be coupled with 4 GB of RAM.

Now that the smartphone has been spotted on GeekBench 3, it is likely that it will soon on appear TENNA, the certification entity from China. Once it happens, more details on the specifications of the CM-5000 are expected to surface. It is expected to launch with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS onboard.

The Samsung Galaxy C SM-C5000 is expected to sport a full metal design with a thin form factor.  Samsung is expected to launch the C5000 smartphone in the next month. The South Korean giant is also speculated to be working on another C series smartphone, SM-C7000. However, nothing is known on the specification of C7000 smartphone, Sam Mobile reported.

Samsung is also rumored to be working on its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 6. The rumor mill is consistently spilling more information on the Galaxy Note 5 successor.

Speculations indicate that unlike predecessor Note series phones, the Galaxy Note 6 will be coming with a 5.8-inch Quad HD screen. It is expected to be available in variants of Snapdragon 823 SoC and upgraded version of Exynos 8890. Both the chipset variants are going to supported by 6 GB of RAM.

It is expected to arrive preinstalled with Android N OS. The Galaxy Note 6 release date is rumored to happen in July or August this year. Other rumored features include microSD card slot, iris scanner, USB Type-C port, enhanced S-Pen stylus, and 3600 mAh - 4000 mAh battery.
