The Great America theme park in California recently revealed its latest attraction via a Twitter post. Dubbed the Mass Effect New Earth 4D, based on the widely popular video game series, the new theme park attraction will open its doors on May 18.
The Mass Effect New Earth 4D will feature a ride that will strap people into a rumble chars and wear 3D glasses, while live performers will guide them through a spacewalk in one of the game's most iconic ship, the SSV Normandy commandeered by the game's main character Commander Shepard, according to Game Informer.

Attendees of the new theme park ride will also get to visit distant planets and go toe-to-toe against hordes of foes as they fight their way to save the day. The theme park ride was announced last year, and is finally opening its doors. The attraction was also developed with the help of the publisher of "Mass Effect," Electronic Arts.
The Mass Effect New Earth 4D experience is being hosted inside one of the theaters of Great America. This means that, unlike traditional theme park rides, this one is indoors. Great America and EA did not reveal much information about the ride or which characters from the game will find their way into the ride's presentation. Some gamers are also wondering whether the theme park ride will have any ties to the upcoming game in the series dubbed "Mass Effect: Andromeda," which is due to be released in 2017.
EA is not the only game video game company that is trying their hands into theme park attractions. Ubisoft and Nintendo both have their own respective theme park rides based on some of the games they have created or published, according to Slash Gear. These attractions are seen by many analysts as a new way to expose consumers to the brands of a specific game. On top of that, this is also a smart marketing tool which can generate revenue at the same time.
Both Great America and EA had yet to confirm the whole duration of the Mass Effect New Earth 4D theme park ride. Some are claiming that it might run until "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is release next year.
