This Idaho mountain lion had an unusual growth on its head revealing another set of teeth.
An odd looking mountain lion that was legally killed by an unknown hunter was discovered to have an unusual feature growing on the side of its head which turns out to be another set of teeth.
According to the Idaho State Journal, this lion was harvested last December 20 near Weston where wildlife officials were baffled after a conservation official obtained a photo from the Southeast Regional Office of the Idaho Fish and Game located in Pocatello.

According to biologist Zack Lockyear, this has left them scratching their heads, as this is a bizarre situation in a bizarre photo. The Idaho Fish and Game revealed on a press release on Friday that local wildlife officials still have no explanation about this abnormal growth on the mountain lion's head however they did provide some theories why the lion had teeth and even whiskers sprouting out of one part of its head.
The biologist explained how these partial teeth can be remnants from a conjoined twin that eventually died in the womb, absorbing into another fetus. Another possibility would be that this deformity was an actual teratoma tumor. This type of tumor involves tissue where teeth, hair, and even fingers and toes can develop which is rare in both humans and animals.
Lockyear also added another possible theory that this mountain lion could also experienced an injury, where its jaw healed in such a bizarre manner, but this theory could also be highly unlikely.
Wildlife officials also revealed in the statement that biologists in the state apparently have never seen such a case before, involving deformities on mountain lion heads.
This mountain lion was first seen while attacking a dog on the hunter's private property in the rural region of Weston. When the lion was chased off, its tracks revealed its location through other properties near the area following a trail to the hills.
After three hours of the attack, the hunter then tracked this animal with the help of hunting hounds where the big cat was killed legally, where the hunter's dog survived this deadly lion attack, officials say.
Apparently, mountain lions can be hunted legally in Idaho, regarding them as big game along with elk and mule deer. However, they can only be tracked down during specific seasons in official hunting areas with proper licensing and tagging.
