HP has unveiled a range of laptops with in-built privacy screens that should take care of unwanted intrusion from the prying eyes of onlookers. 

In a bid to attract customers who are conscious of using their laptop in public, the manufacturer has released a host of laptops that have an in-built feature to ensure screen privacy.

With the launch of HP Sure View concept, HP's new laptops are now fitted with 3M's technology for screen privacy. Customers can enjoy this bonus in the latest HP EliteBook range of laptops.

Although many users have been buying physical 3M Screen filters for greater privacy, the filters tended to get smudgy and would gradually slip from the screen. Now, however, with the technology built into the PC those issues are taken care of.

The Sure View mode is very convenient to use and can be turned off and on at the click of a dedicated button. According to many reviews, the transition to private mode is so quick that it can surely ward off prying gazes.

So how effective is the privacy screen? Well, according to HP, the technology prevents 95 percent of light from being viewed from an angle, which means it is highly effective.

With the growing need for privacy due to shared office spaces and the need to use laptops while traveling, there is an increasing demand for greater privacy. Given that, it seems HP's Sure View technology will grab a lot of attention, and we might see other laptop manufacturers making similar attempts to incorporate greater privacy for screens.

However, one complaint that users might still have is the issue with screen brightness. HP does not seem to have taken care of the problem which arises due to the reduced image quality when a filter darkens the screen. Nevertheless, HP laptops with Sure View technology offer much better image quality in Private Mode than any laptop screen fitted with a physical filter.

Additionally, keeping cost in mind, HP SureView might be a more cost-effective solution in the long run since the technology only increases the cost of your laptop by approximately $75 USD while any physical filter would cost around $50 USD and would need to be replaced.

With that said, HP's Elitebooks with SureView are expected to do well with businessmen and workaholics who love to work while commuting in public transport.
