President Barack Obama would be guest editing the November issue of Wired. Although the tech-focused magazine has had several famous guest editors, it would be the first time that any magazine will be edited by a sitting president.

Over the years, Wired has had amazing guest editors such as Bill Gates on "solving the world's biggest problems," and Christopher Nolan on "space, time and multiple dimensions." The most recent guest editor was Serena Williams on "equality in the digital age." This November, President Obama will be editing the issue with the theme "Frontiers."

For the November issue, Obama would be focusing on the future - on the ensuing obstacles that humanity would need to overcome to move forward. It will focus on frontiers in the areas of cybersecurity, urban planning, medicine, urban planning and artificial intelligence. The Guardian reported that Obama's editorship coincides with a recent conference at the White House, where topics discussed included how investing in science and technology could help improve lives.

The Obama administration has worked closely with the technology industry. In fact, dozens of Obama's staff are executives from companies such as Google, Amazon, and Facebook.  

Scott Dadich, the editor-in-chief of Wired Magazine, said that Obama's involvement follows the footsteps of the country's leaders and founding fathers that were forefronts of technological innovation. "When the founders wrote the Declaration of Independence and the constitution, they were at the bleeding edge of Enlightenment philosophy and technology," Dadich said.

Obama has previously written an article about feminism for Glamour Magazine. When he leaves the White House Jan 2017, Obama has said he is interested in working as a venture capitalist.
