Microsoft has released Build 14915 of the Windows 10 beta with some changes to its Delivery Optimization technology. This feature collaborates with the user's bandwidth to deliver updates from the company's servers. Delivery Optimization is officially known as Windows Update Delivery Optimization.

Delivery Optimization has been the part of Windows 10 since the beginning. While the feature was activated through its November 2015 upgrade 'Threshold 2,' insider builds of Windows 10 did not get the feature until the arrival of Build 14915. Delivery Optimization does not supplant the company's standard update delivery service but enhances it.
According to Computer World, Delivery Optimization is based on peer to peer distribution of updates, apps, and builds. Microsoft provides the opportunity to opt out of this feature as such peer to peer distribution may potentially lead to security and privacy issues. However, Delivery Optimization checks each file for authenticity for minimizing the chances of any mishap.
The service is enabled by default but may be completely turned off by heading to Settings. Users need to follow Update & Security tab > Windows Update > Advanced Options path. The service can be turned off completely, or users can choose to get updates from local machines only.
Delivery Optimization is not the only new feature of Build 14915. According to Digital Trends, the latest build fixes issues with Cortana's text to speech capabilities. It also resolves the issues of delayed mail notification and ring settings for Windows Insider.
